These verses are grouped into three questions people actually ask: why am I here, how do I trust God with my life, and what does it mean to have new life in Christ.
Every verse is the King James Version text word for word, and each one opens into its chapter so you can read it in full context.
Why you are here
John 10:10KJV
10The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
Jesus draws a sharp contrast between the thief who takes life and Himself, who gives it — and gives it abundantly. It is a statement about the quality of life, not just its length.

6Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
One of the clearest claims Jesus makes about Himself. The way, the truth and the life are not three separate things but one person.

13For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb. 14I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.
Life is not an accident in this account. You were made, and made deliberately, which is the ground of the psalmist’s praise.

8He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?
The prophet reduces a long list of religious expectations to three: do justly, love mercy, walk humbly with God. A whole life in one sentence.

33But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Jesus reorders priorities. Seek first the kingdom of God, and the things you have been anxious about are added rather than chased.

Proverbs 3:5-6KJV
5Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Trust is set against leaning on your own understanding, and the promise is direction: He shall direct thy paths. It is a verse for decisions.

105Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
A lamp unto my feet, not a floodlight over the whole road. Scripture gives enough light for the next step, which is usually enough.

2And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
The renewed mind is presented as the alternative to being pressed into the world’s mould, and the result is proving what God’s will is.

5Commit thy way unto the LORD ; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.
Commit thy way unto the LORD, trust also in him, and he shall bring it to pass. Three short clauses that together describe a whole posture toward life.

2 Corinthians 5:17KJV
17Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature. The old is not merely improved; it has passed away and something new has begun.

20I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
Paul describes the Christian life as a exchanged one: I live, yet not I, but Christ liveth in me. It reframes whose life is being lived.

23For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life. The verse turns on the word gift — it is received, not earned.

8For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Saved by grace through faith, and explicitly not of works, so that no one can boast. It settles the question of how anyone stands before God.

What is the most famous Bible verse about life?
John 10:10 is the verse most often quoted about life, because Jesus contrasts the thief who destroys with Himself, who gives life more abundantly. John 14:6 and Matthew 6:33 are also widely known and speak directly to how life is to be lived.
What does the Bible say about the purpose of life?
Micah 6:8 gives the purpose in three parts: to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with God. Matthew 6:33 puts the priority first — seek the kingdom of God — and Psalm 139:13-14 grounds purpose in being deliberately made by God.
How do I trust God with my life?
Proverbs 3:5-6 is the central instruction: trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not on your own understanding. Psalm 37:5 adds the practice of committing your way to Him, and Psalm 119:105 sets the expectation that Scripture lights the next step rather than the whole road.
What does it mean to have a new life in Christ?
2 Corinthians 5:17 describes it as becoming a new creature, with old things passed away. Ephesians 2:8-9 explains that this comes by grace through faith and not by works, and Galatians 2:20 describes the result as Christ living in the believer.
